Fun and supervision

We aim to provide fun and friendship for all children in our care. Children have lots of playtime with other children and adult carers. Every child in our care is under constant supervision by our qualified and experienced carers.

Meals and nutrition

Our menus provide a balanced and nutritious diet. We cater for any individual dietary needs, allergies or beliefs your child may have. Meal costs are included in fees and this includes morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack.

Rest and relaxation

A typical KOTA day has lots of fun activities so we balance this by also giving your child the opportunity to rest every day.

Cleanliness and hygiene

We aim for the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. For example, floors are cleaned every day, we try to reduce chemical use, we regularly clean and disinfect toys and we have procedures for washing hands.

Safety and security

The safety and security of your child is of prime importance to us. For example our staff will only hand your children over to you or another adult you have nominated. All staff are trained for emergencies and staff members have first aid qualifications and police clearances. Access to the KOTA building is by PIN code.

Education and development

We have special development programs covering areas such as social skills, hand-eye coordination and language. The programs are based on play, are lots of fun and are designed to enhance your child's optimum development. We also offer:

  • Kindergarten program
  • Music classes
  • Incursions at the centre (e.g. animal farm etc)
  • Special Activities (e.g. Grandparent Days, Religious holidays, celebrating children's birthdays, St Patricks Day etc)
  • Visitors (e.g. story-tellers, parents with special talents).

Kindergarten program

We also have a kindergarten program. Our qualified and experienced teacher conduct a program which is fun and complies with the curriculum requirements of the VIC Education Department. The program provides a great start for children about to enter school with the added convenience of childcare before and after the program.

Opening times

We open at 7:30am and close at 6:00am, Monday to Friday. We usually close for 2-3 weeks over the Christmas and New Year holiday period. Please ask the Coordinator for further information about our end of year closing dates.

Fees

KOTA is committed to providing affordable quality care for all families. Currently our fees are $75 per day or $340 per week. Fees are payable two weeks in advance. The amount you pay is dependent on the amount of Child Care Benefit you receive. The Commonwealth Government provides Child Care Benefit which is means tested (the amount you receive depends on how much you earn. Centrelink pays the benefit directly to the childcare centre, so you only have to pay the gap between the benefit and the full fee. Further information can be obtained by calling the Family Assistance Office on 136150.
